Mohali arrest: Punjab Police nabs Lawrence Bishnoi gang 'operative'

Punjab Police arrests Lawrence Bishnoi gang 'operative' in Mohali

Punjab Police arrested an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Sachin alias Bacchi, in Kharar, Mohali. Sachin, a resident of Mangali in Hisar, was reportedly apprehended by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) near the entrance of Chandigarh Group of Colleges in Landran. 

Sachin was taken into custody based on credible information. He is believed to have played a role in providing logistical support to the gang members. During the arrest, the police recovered four pistols and 12 live cartridges from his possession. 

Conspiracy and foreign handlers

Initial investigations have unveiled that Sachin, in collaboration with other gang members, was allegedly hatching a conspiracy to carry out specific assignments given to them by foreign handlers. These assignments are yet to be disclosed.

Criminal record

Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of AGTF, Sandeep Goel, revealed that Sachin had a criminal record and was a wanted individual according to the Punjab Police.

A case has been registered against Sachin under the relevant sections of the Arms Act in Mohali. Further investigations are underway, and the police anticipate more arrests and recoveries linked to this "module." The Lawrence Bishnoi gang is known for its criminal activities, and the arrest of Sachin represents a significant development in the ongoing efforts to combat organized crime in the region.
